Step back in time at this Bethlehem landmark built in 1873 as a
station for the Jersey Central Railroad.
|
 |
The station is an
excellent example of small Queen Victorian passenger railroad
architecture
and was placed on the
National Registry of Historic Buildings in 1975. |
 |
President Harry S.
Truman made a whistle stop campaign visit on October 7, 1948.
Teddy Roosevelt
stopped on a whistle stop campaign in 1908 and addressed the crowd
from the rear of his
car knick-named the "Roosevelt Special". |
 |
Today you can stop
and wet your whistle in the
casual atmosphere of the main floor
with it's tall
ceilings and large windows, |
 |
or the cozy charm of
the lower level with it's exposed stone walls and private nooks for an intimate
dinner
and a semi-private
room perfect for birthdays, graduations and other special occasions for up
to 20 people. |
